  • My Role: Researcher
  • Duration: Februrary 2016 - March 2016
  • Tools used: Adobe CC, InVision, HTML/CSS/JavaScript

AIR hub is a platform to be used by employees of Algonquin College. Specifically, professors that had hired students as employees for paid projects. The application was set to be able to enter billable hours and tasks worked on for Students. It allowed the professors to track team time spent on tasks and approve timesheets.

Discover

The initial meeting allowed us to gain an understanding of what the products MVP is and who its user base will be. We were also provided a work in progress HTML prototype as well as some UI mockups to be used in a prototyping software (inVision). With prototypes in hand, we were able to test the application within the team to see if any features were missing as well as the general usability of the application in its current state.

Design

With our initial team testing complete, we had an understanding on what features were viable to test and what the current flow is for common tasks that were to be tested. Once the flow was completed, we worked to create a usability testing script for our users to follow during testing.

Test

We had tested 4 teams (2 users of the same persona type per test). We had received a lot of feedback from our users. They were also able to verify a few suspicions our team had about some of the functionality

What we delivered

After our day of usability testing, we had gathered all our testing data and compiled it into a full research report. The report included the testing script, types of users, and screen recordings. We concluded our report with our insights and recommendation
